The attorneys of Voicu & Filipescu have been retained as legal counsel for the establishment and functioning of the Insurance Pool against Disasters (PAID), part of a governmental program aimed at setting out the framework for the operation of national wide mandatory home insurance against earthquakes, landslides or floods.
Advised a major independent international private equity group acting mainly in transitional economies, such as those found in Central and Eastern Europe and Asia in the acquisition of majority stakes in two Romanian insurance companies, as well as in the subsequent intra-group sale of such participation towards a joint-venture operating in 12 CEE countries.
Advised a Nederland based holding company providing insurance and pension services in Central and Eastern Europe in the establishment and authorization of a company for pillar 2 pension system, and in launching a pension fund under the Romanian pensions system.
Advised a Czech bank, part of one of the most active investor groups in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and a major player on the Eastern European markets, in respect to its intention to acquire a significant shareholding stake in a top three insurance company on the Romanian market, listed on the RASDAQ stock exchange.
Advised a Romanian insurance company, part of one of the largest insurance companies in Austria and which is the insurance market leader in Central and Eastern Europe, in connection with the revoking of the Management Board, the appointment and the registration of the new Management Board with the Romanian Insurance Supervisory Commission.
