Arbitration

Represented the former operator of the duty-free areas within a Bucharest international airport before the International Center for Settlement of Investments Disputes in a US$ 100 million claim against the Romanian state, for damages caused by the abusive loss of contracts for duty-free sales in the said airport and in-flight sales on Romanian air travel agency aircrafts, and breach of international economic treaties and bilateral agreements related to investments.
Assisted a series of Italian and Romanian investors while acting as respondents in an arbitration case filed against the clients in front of Vienna International Arbitral Centre for claims in amount of EUR 8 million arising from alleged breach of the sale and purchase agreement afferent to a share deal regarding a major metal constructions company.
Successfully assisted a well-known Romanian energy company in an ad-hoc arbitration case and subsequent litigation cases – maintaining the favorable arbitral decision – filed for a claim of EUR 1 million arising in connection with the performance of a public works FIDIC contract with a total value of EUR 10.5 million for burners’ implementation at energetic boilers for a Romanian state company.
Represented a major company acting in the non-ferrous industry, in an arbitration case settled under the UNCITRAL Model Rules concerning post-privatization investment obligations and the monitoring of environmental obligations related to the non-ferrous casting industry.
Represented an important player in the tourism field during conciliation settled under the UNCITRAL Model Rules, with a hotels chain for settlement of fees related to management and operation of several hotels.
